Hi, I'm Sophia — 34, and a brand-new entrepreneur.

After many years in procurement in an industrial environment, I finally took the leap to chase what I'd always dreamed of: building something of my own in the beauty world. Skincare has been a lifelong passion — I love discovering new products and understanding how they really work on the skin.

For years, I kept asking myself how to start a project on the side. I never quite managed. Then, in 2025, something clicked. It was time.

I didn't know where to begin. Endless brainstorming, coffees with entrepreneur friends, advice from every direction — and still, I felt stuck. Until I finally sat down with myself and asked the real question: what did I actually want to build?

And the answer had been there all along.

Where it all started

Ever since I was 16, I dreaded one thing: beach days. The reason? Type I skin — pale, and quick to burn every single time. While everyone else turned golden, I stayed under the parasol, drenched in sunscreen. And somehow, I'd still end up burnt.

All I wanted was that sun-kissed, end-of-summer glow.

Over the years, I figured out my workarounds — none of them perfect. Tan lines, SPF 50 on repeat, a constant back-and-forth between shade and sun to avoid burning. A whole routine that sort of worked, but always at my skin's expense.

Because here's what we're rarely told growing up: beyond sunburn, the sun does real, lasting damage to the skin. There's this idea of a "sun capital" — the limited amount of UV exposure our skin can take over a lifetime, with no way to top it back up. And fair skin like mine? It starts with even less.

The more I looked into it, the more I realised this wasn't just my problem. Fair, olive, or deep — we're all after the same thing: a glowing, even complexion that flatters our natural tone without harming it. That's what I set out to create: a tan made for every skin, tailored to its tones and undertones.

That's how Ambree was born — from a love of beauty and skin, and the desire to solve all of this with healthy products and a naturally beautiful result.
